Diabetes - a risk factor for heart diseases

Diabetes increases the risk for hypertension, atherosclerosis, coronary disease and stroke, particularly if your blood sugar levels are not controlled. In females with diabetes there is an increased risk for heart attacks or angina than males with diabetes.
